Is a pentagram just an inverted pentacle? The short answer is no.
Are inverted crosses and the number 666 really Satanic? Well, yes and no.
Addressing some annoying misinformation on Satanic symbols in this episode of Satansplain.

Magister Bill M. here with Satansplain. It is 2024, and it is my birthday, as I record this. As I’m sure most of you already know, the date of one’s own birth is the highest of all Satanic holidays. If you want to hear a little more about Satanic holidays, you can go listen to Satansplain episode #11. Rather than repeating all of that here, let’s get right into what I’d REALLY like to talk about.
Some of you listeners may have noticed that a recurring theme with many Satansplain episodes is addressing and maybe debunking some idea that we see show up in discussions on Satanism over and over again. And one particularly big misconception that I see showing up time and time again, concerns the pentagram. I’m sure you know what the pentagram is. It’s a 5-pointed star shape drawn with five straight, overlapping lines. Sometimes with a circle around it. THAT much is true. But the misconception is the claim that when you orientate the star one point down, it is a pentagram, and when you draw it one point up, it is called a pentacle. This, in a word, is bullshit, and I’ll be addressing that.
I also want to address things like inverted crosses and the number 666. And more importantly, not the people who say these ARE Satanic, but the much more annoying people who say that these things are definitively NOT Satanic, and try to shame Satanists who choose to use these symbols.
